Safety and Security at Legacy Traditional Schools

Our unwavering commitment to the safety of our school communities. Through preventative measures, practice drills, and safety regulations, Legacy Traditional Schools is dedicated to creating safe learning environments.

Annual Assessments and Training

Our commitment to safety in Legacy schools is underscored by the broad spectrum of emergency situations covered in our training. Throughout the year, students, teachers, and other staff participate in a variety of drills, like fire drills, shelter-in-place, and lockdown, to ensure emergency procedures are followed quickly, quietly and in an orderly manner.

Arizona School Safety Program (SSP)

The Arizona School Safety Program Grant enables campuses to enhance school safety with a full-time School Resource Officer or School Safety Officer (SRO/SSO) through June 2026.

Collaborating for a Safer Tomorrow

Legacy maintains a strong partnership with local law enforcement agencies. This collaboration is vital in conducting comprehensive annual assessments for the prevention of and responsiveness to a variety of emergency situations. Legacy schools engage with organizations like the “I Love U Guys” Foundation for emergency response protocol training and actively participate in ACTIC’s TVA (threat vulnerability assessment) program.

From our
community

At Legacy Traditional Schools, we believe in uniting families, teachers, and staff to create a warm, engaging environment that encourages every child to thrive.

Campus Security and Safety

Legacy’s permanent school buildings implement a variety of measures to ensure the safety of the community.

Raptor Visitor Management System

Visitors access a single point of entry, and are checked-in through Raptor’s Visitor Management System. All parents, guests, contractors and volunteers must check-in with the front office and show valid state I.D before accessing the school building.

Secure Perimeter Fencing and Camera Systems

Secure perimeter fencing systems, gates and access points are operated by approved personnel and controlled by a mix of mechanical and electromechanical locks. Additionally, security cameras near the front lobby doors are monitor entry to the campus and provides continuous surveillance throughout the school day.

Emergency Communications

Emergency communications systems effectively notify the intended audience and appropriate response agencies. On campus, portable radios allow each staff member to remain in contact throughout the school day. Parents will receive communications through Parent Square and other official channels during an emergency.

Emergency Drills and Training

Periodic emergency drills and training of staff, students and other personnel uphold the school’s readiness to deal with emergency situations. This includes fire drills, shelter-in-place, and lockdown drills, with regular drills to ensure the readiness of students and staff, in case of an emergency.
