Technology Requirements
Which mobile devices can students use for online learning?
Students can use any of the following devices for online learning:
- Devices with a minimum 7-inch screen (larger than 7” is recommended)
- Apple iOS devices with iOS 16 or higher
- Android devices with version 10 or higher
- If using iPad for grades 2+ MAP testing, students need iOS 16 or higher, and for K–2 they must use the secure browser.
Can students use Windows computers for online learning?
Yes. Students can use a Windows computer that meets the following requirements:
- 1.4 Ghz Intel Pentium or faster processor (or equivalent)
- Microsoft® Windows 10 or higher
- 2 GB RAM
During three days of the school year, online students will participate in NWEA MAP assessments—district assessments to gauge how students are performing in reading and math skills. On NWEA MAP testing days, students will need access to a computer that meets the following requirements:
- Microsoft® Windows 10 or higher
- Chrome OS 120 or higher and screen resolution of 1366 x 768 dp
Use the NWEA Workstation Diagnostic to check that your computer meets the requirements for NWEA testing.
Can students use Mac computers for online learning?
Yes. Students can use any Mac computer that meets these requirements:
- 1.83 Ghz Intel Core Duo or faster processor
- 2 GB RAM
- MacOS 12.x or higher

Can students use Chromebooks for online learning?
Yes; however, the ChromeOS device must support the latest version of ChromeOS/Google Chrome.
Which internet browsers are recommended for online learning?
- Edge version 121 or higher
- Safari 17
- Google Chrome using the latest version
Are there any additional technology requirements for online learning?
- Javascript must be enabled on internet browsers
- Cookies are recommended to be enabled on internet browsers
- Working speakers and microphone are required
- A working web camera is required
- Screen resolution
- 1024×768 with 32 bit color depth
- Chrome OS 1366 x 768 dp
- iPad IOS >=768×1024 dp
- Android 10 753×1205 dp
- iPhone 390 x 844 dp
